I’m writing this blog to practice writing. Without thinking about an audience, not primarily. I just want to have a reason, and a practice, of publishing my writing, thoughts, and notes.

So far my practice is: fiddle with the tooling and setup for a long time as a simultaneous act of procrastination and foundation for the whole practice. That I am self-hosting my presence on a raspberry pi in my network closet, and I have a complex-but-simple practice for deploying, is part of my practice.

Just now I discovered that my exiftool script to strip geographic data from my images wasn’t working! That’s the risk of leaving the exif header in-place in my site repo, I’m ok with it. I considered leaving it in, e.g., as extra narrative data for the Boerenwetering shot of the Rijksmuseum. But this is noodling, its not actually writing.

As I publish this piece, I have three draft articles in process, so now the question is if I can stop fiddling with the git repo and stuff and just write and publish.
