Monday, July 21 2025: The bottom third of the image is canal water with ripples reflecting the sky color, with boats and trees on either side. The middle has the Rijksmuseum, a red brick building with steep, tall, gray-colored roofs. The sky is blue and gray, filled with clouds.

This photo was taken with my Pixel 8 on Monday, July 21, on my paddle home from work in the afternoon. The weather was changing (there had been heavy rain earlier in the day) and the sky looked amazing. My phone is still in its waterproof holster, so I’m surprised the image is as sharp as it is.

Boerenwetering is the canal on the western edge of De Pijp, running next to Hobbemakade.

Incidentally, I was carrying a number of parcels that were received at my mailbox at the office! SUP delivery service! I also have my laptop and change of clothes in a drybag (this time on the back of the board) when I’m paddling between home and work.
