This is the 2nd full day for me, and it didn’t start until almost noon because I slept in so much after Friday night’s Midnight Tosti event.

The canceled events from Friday were rescheduled for Saturday and fit into the schedule alongside the previously scheduled talks. Its great that nothing was skipped, but this meant every event meant missing something else interesting, since there were so many options scheduled at the same time.

Gasman

For my start of the day (at 2pm) I attended Gasman’s ZX-Spectrum concert. I had waited for this to start at the Party stage on Friday when all events were canceled due to the power outage.

Gasman was all-in on the 80s look, with his white suit, playing solos on a keytar and singing over the bleepy accompaniment of ZX-Spectrum audio. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Plus the Party Bar could start selling alchohol at 2.

PolyGen

PolyGen was set up here just like at EMF Camp. Every time someone tagged in and I heard the English-accented sci-fi voice and sound effects, I had a flashback to my campsite at EMF, which was unfortunately right next to a PolyGen unit attached to the boundary fence.

Eye on the Sky

Super interesting presentation by Logan Williams, of Bellingcat. He presented ways he uses his balena-ads-b software, which uses public ADS-B data and allows Logan to ask questions like “what aircraft are patrolling the Canadian border between Washington and British Columbia?” and “what aircraft left JFK and landed in Moscow within 24 hours”

Aid to Ukraine

Or, “what to do when your friends end up in a war?”

Ron & Niels of Aid to Ukraine described how they started Aid to Ukraine, what they do, and how they go about doing it. This was inspiring, as it showed how they started and organize. Work with people you know, ask them what they need now, what they need in a week, what they need in six months.

Phrack 40th Anniversary Party

I missed the Phrack talk but made it to the Phrack party at Milliways. I drank some beer and met some interesting folks. No pictures from the event, but above you can see me paper copy of the 40th anniversary edition. This takes me back to reading Phrack text files when I discovered them back in the 90s.

Badge is released!

The delayed badge was released Saturday evening during the Phrack party. This is when the line was short! Depending on the wait I will pick mine up today.

Oldenburg Main Frame Hacker Space Vending Machine

This repurposed cigarette vending machine is stocked full of single board computers and related paraphenalia. I love it!
